Our approach to ethical sourcingWe have searched far and wide to find enterprises that are producing resources that take due care for the environment and workers. We have selected a very varied group of suppliers which span the whole range of ethical production. This is deliberate. We don't just want to have green products or fairtrade products. We want to represent all producers who are making a difference in their own way. And we want to encourage more mainstream companies to build on the efforts they've made so far.
Some further details of our range of ethical suppliers we are supporting are below:
All of our fair trade partners work in local communities in the developing world. They are helping those communities build trading capacity and are all members of recognised fair-trade associations
The key materials used in producing our sustainably produced resources have been certified by a recognised body as sustainably sourced
We work with two types of social enterprise. Those that make products to provide work and training for disadvantaged members of society. And others that specifically support charity projects, for example by using a proportion of their proceeds to support community initiatives and international NGOs
Our range includes products made from recycled materials.
We want to help promote adoption of good corporate responsibility and environmental standards in mainstream companies. We stock resources from companies that have exceptional environmental policies and work practices.
